Shown here in a large form with a dark background, this image of a beer container and tap is oddly reminiscent of the white on black chalkboards used in traditional pubs. This is a barrel cooler as designed by Hatty Iselin in 1933, from perhaps a simpler time without all the trappings of modern bars. Despite the simplicity of the design, the detail involved is evident from this noted blueprint. There is clearly a science to producing the perfect beer.
